Here's another way to Jazz up your Moodle. This is a neat little way I found through Google's blog search which uses a nuance in Moodle to let you "hide" your resources and activities without making them unavailable to students.
The original post does a great job to showcase how this really works (including a link to a great youtube video tutorial). I've also taken a crack at it and have a posted resource reflecting the steps as part of a free resource.
